Unit 10

For the unit 10 Blog we were asked what advice we would give to someone writing their first scientific paper, one thing I can think of the most is to tell them "do not procrastinate." Get your subject or idea and start researching it right from the beginning, and never think to yourself that you are not going to be able to present the paper that you would like to. Always keep an open mind about it, this really helps. By setting a schedule for yourself and sticking to it anyone preparing to do a paper should have no problem completing it. Always have someone else read through your paper. Make sure that they have an open mind about the subject you are presenting to them. Sometimes it even helps if they have the opposite opinion about the subject, because that gives your paper a chance to make them see the your side of the issue, if you can sway them, then perhaps you can sway a larger audience. One other thing, do not always trust spell check, get a good old fashioned Websters Dictionary and keep it available as well. You will find that it comes in quite handy.
For the areas of strengths gained, and areas that still need work. Throughout this class I have noticed that my post have become more detailed in respect to the subject matter at hand. I feel that my writing ability has grown (thank you Julie). Writing will always be an area that constant improvement will be a work in progress. The more we write, the easier it will be. Dot all of your i's and cross all your t's.
This has been a great term! I wish the best of luck to all of you in all of your future endeavors!

Well, lets see....................................Its done and its turned in, major relief. That goes for both of my classes! I am glad that both of my papers are complete, I think that this class was a great benefit to me. As for feeling nervous, not so much nervous as anxious about what my final grade will be for both. Now I just have to get through the final exam in my other course and all will be good. I have found that writing is beginning to come a bit easier. The more I push myself the more I seem to be able to put down on paper. I also feel that through our course on writing, it has actually helped me to become better at expressing how I am feeling, or how I am able to explain different things in a verbal manner. Wow! What an experience! Best of luck to everyone!

Unit 8

Wow, is it really unit 8 already! I can't believe that it has gone so fast! As for issues, the biggest one I had was being able to put a lot of life experience into my paper without making it all about how this issue has touched not just my life, but the life of my husband, and our children. Luckily with the help of our professor and others in class, their suggestions as well as how much my husband contributed to my paper. His comments, and how we as a family have dealt with this.
I thank God every day that he has given our family the strength and the commitment to help us all through this. I only hope that others with this issue have the same commitment not only to themselves but to others also to see it through.
Thank you to everyone who made comments and suggestions! It is appreciated greatly. Good luck to each and everyone of you!
